The Vue, a 51 story high-rise condo complex in Uptown Charlotte, is renting apartments now as well as continuing to try to sell their condo units.
Starting at around $1,100 for an Ikea sized 650 sq foot apartment, you can live there. The Vue is located on 5th St with great views of Uptown. I would imagine most places with 50+ stories have a pretty good view.

However, thats not the real story. The Vue is building a Sky Lounge on the 50th floor of their building which should be open by New Year's Eve.

The question is, will it be open to the public or only accessible to residents? If it is going to be an open to the public lounge, it could potentially be the next best thing in Charlotte's nightlife. If not, it could be another cool space that no one knows about and no one uses.

Speaking of skyline, rooftop, high-rise lounges, Charlotte is kind of lacking in regards to good rooftop patio bars and lounges. There are a few back patios, porches, etc with a good view but nothing that is high up in the sky.

The Blake Hotel is currently remodeling and building a few new nightlife venues inside their hotel. One of which will be a rooftop bar/lounge which will indeed be open to the public and will have an amazing view. Stay tuned for more information about the Blake.

All I can say is, if you build it, you better open it up to the public or it will be a huge waste of potential.
